Back to analog and monochrome

Once in a while I switch to shooting analog and I never regret it. The sheer joy of using a camera like the Olympus OM2-n and the results themselves, makes me want to switch to analog for good. Having said though, I don’t want to part with my Leica’s either….This picture was taken at the Katwijk beach. Shot with Porta 400 and converted to black and white in Lightroom. This particular roll of film has yielded quite some keepers. You can check them here (the last 22 pictures).

Make Up

I am back after a little hiatus due to my vacation :-). I have enjoyed a holiday which had its ups and downs…enjoying the lovely island Ibiza with your daughter and being lucky being joined by your girlfriend and her daughter as they were visiting Ibiza as well, but also loosing you wallet along with your new iPhone 6 and suffering from heavy delays from our flights. I will spare you all the details and the hassle we had to go through, but it resulted in a very let’s say ‘dynamic’ holiday spend on Ibiza. I took this picture of my lovely daughter in our hotel room as she was putting up make up.  A moment of retrospection on myself as the father of an up growing child and my daughter of turning into a beautiful woman. Shot with the awesome Olympus OM-2n paired with the 50 mm F. Zuiko lens and Kodak Portra 125, converted to black and white, with a touch of toning and vignetting.Make Up

Stairs

Some scenes immediately translate into black and white pictures, like this one. I took it on my walk to the Scheveningen boulevard.  Stairs

Aware

As soon as you are aware of your surroundings, you start to perceive things you would have not noticed otherwise. When I walked across the boulevard of Scheveningen, I noticed this pattern in the sand. I immediately imaged it in black and white, although I had a color negative film, Porta 400, loaded in the OM-2.
