To the beach

Analog, Luck

This is a picture a took quite a while ago. I decided to combine two things that I like to do very much; riding my bike and taking pictures. It is my Ducati at the beach you are looking at. The picture is taken with my very first camera, the Minolta X-700. A sweet little camera and a perfect combination of Japanese engineering and design. I have the intention to shoot more analog this year, but the X-700 shall have to compete with the Olympus OM2-n, the Trip 35 and the Yashica Mat 124G (along with my two digital Leica’s)…..To the beach

Back to analog and monochrome

Analog, Nature

Once in a while I switch to shooting analog and I never regret it. The sheer joy of using a camera like the Olympus OM2-n and the results themselves, makes me want to switch to analog for good. Having said though, I don’t want to part with my Leica’s either….This picture was taken at the Katwijk beach. Shot with Porta 400 and converted to black and white in Lightroom. This particular roll of film has yielded quite some keepers. You can check them here (the last 22 pictures).

I Love that Yashica!

Analog, Street

Just a quick note here! I shoot with different camera’s; A Leica M8, Canon 50D and for analog camera’s a Minolta X-700, a Olympus Trip 35 and last but certainly not least (!) a Yashica Mat 124G which is a medium format twin reflex camera. The sheer joy of operating this camera, combined with the anticipation for the negatives and scans surely surpasses the joy of all of the other camera’s (yes and that includes the M8!). The quality of the pictures is not shabby either. This picture is taken with the lovely  Kodak Portra 400 film, converted in Lightroom into black and white. Btw, you can check my analog pictures if you want to here.

Father and Daughter

Luck, People, Street

If you leap awake in the mirror of a bad dream
And for a fraction of a second, you can’t remember where you are
Just open your window and follow your memory upstream
To the meadow in the mountain where we counted every falling star

I believe the light that shines on you will shine on you forever
And though I can’t guarantee there’s nothing scary hiding under your bed
I’m gonna stand guard like a postcard of a golden retriever
And never leave ‘til I leave you with a sweet dream in your head

I’m gonna watch you shine
Gonna watch you grow
Gonna paint a sign
So you’ll always know
As long as one and one is two
There could never be a father
Who loved his daughter more than I love you

Trust your intuition
It’s just like goin’ fishin’
You cast your line and hope you get a bite
But you don’t need to waste your time
Worryin’ about the marketplace
Try to help the human race
Struggling to survive its harshest night

I’m gonna watch you shine
Gonna watch you grow
Gonna paint a sign
So you’ll always know
As long as one and one is two
There could never be a father
Who loved his daughter more than I love you

I’m gonna watch you shine
Gonna watch you grow
Gonna paint a sign
So you’ll always know
As long as one and one is two
There could never be a father
Loved his daughter more than I love you
