‘True love shines through one’s eye’
This sentence popped up in my mind when I thought about Sandro Miller and his wife Claude. I still cherish meeting the famous photographer Sandro Miller and Claude. As if meeting a photographer with such an immense talent was not already enough to have a profound impact on me, meeting him and his wife was a testament of how two people can be ment to share their lives with each other. Their eyes sparkle when they speak about each other and each other accomplishments.
As I was recently going through his feed on Facebook, I came across this quote that he wrote when they got married:
Meeting you was fate.
Becoming your friend was a choice.
Falling in love with you was beyond my control.
Well, that sums it all up, right?
I don’t know whether this comes from Sandro himself but that obviously does not matter. As you stay true to yourself, the people that resonate with your true being are destined to enter your life and will just do that. They help you to destruct what is no longer useful and to manifest what helps you along your path ❤.
When I started this blog a few years back, I decided to call it ‘Pix And Thoughts’. The reason for this, is that I wanted to share my thoughts around the pictures I take with everybody who is interested in both my photography and my thoughts around the photographs. These thoughts are sometimes about the gear I used and more technical aspects, but often they are of a philosophical and spiritual nature. With doing that I show my audience a side of the personality and soul that I am.
When starting this blog, I have challenged myself to only use black and white pictures and to write it in English (I am Dutch). As not all pictures do well in black and white, this means I don’t alway have a right picture to use, so I just wait with writing a blog post until I have a picture to write something about. Having said that, this time I am inspired by a song but did not have the right picture at hand. Until now. The inspiration is from a song by Eric Johnson. Beside being an amazing guitarist and a humble and soft spoken man, he has written these meaningful lines:
Desert Rose that dances
In the heat of the sky
I must pattern my life around you
You can make the most
When the waters run dry
Look into the well
Deep inside you
Don’t fade away….
Over the years, I’ve come to meet enough people in my life faced with the many challenges that life can give you. Abusive partners, break ups, children neglected by their parents, chronic or even deadly diseases, mental issues and scars from their own childhood. Like everybody else I’ve got my fair share too.
The image of a desert rose is so striking because that is just what life is about. Standing tall and proud, knowing you are a wonderful being who is able to make your physical life and that from the people around you a beautiful experience.
There is a reason for you, being around us. Life loves you, don’t ever forget that.
